I've actually since written up a much longer, more comprehensive essay on why I think most anti-meat activism is ineffective. It includes a lot of material from my last email, but also covers many other points. I want to be sure that I have the numbers right, that I'm representing others' opinions fairly, and that I'm addressing the strongest arguments on the other side (and not strawmen), so I'm planning to ask for comments from people who disagree before I publish it. If you'd like, I can send you (and Tyler if he wants) the draft in a few days when it's a bit more polished. That might be more efficient than just responding to the one argument in the email, or writing up two separate responses.
