Discussion quality here seems comparable to the more selective bits of the Singularity Summits, which is quite a high bar. It's a lot less fancy - eg. the 2011 Summit was in Manhattan, so we had events in Peter Thiel's apartment and four-star restaurants and exclusive clubs and senators on the invite list and so on. But that's partly an advantage, since I think the new format allows people to be more open.
